Bringing city stakeholders together to build resilience
Many central business districts are home to some of the largest companies and account for a significant percentage of commercial activities in the region. These districts are also, usually, an area of densely concentrated skyscrapers and the numbers of people living and working within metropolitan areas are often a large percentage of a regions overall population.
Significant events have occurred within metropolitan areas in recent years. These events have highlighted the difficulties in moving large groups of people, the need for rapid communication and the reliance on key decisions to be made. In the event of a city-wide emergency a ‘significant and coordinated response’ will require businesses, government, critical infrastructure companies, service providers and the business leaders to work together.
A key part of our offering to members of 100 Resilient Cities are our City Resilience Workshops. These facilitated workshops allow diverse city stakeholders to come together to understand, highlight and address key vulnerabilities of city-wide emergencies.
Janellis have a robust workshop development process that ensures we understand the key objectives and outcomes; key stakeholder groups and that we can maximise the value of the time allocated to workshop activities.
We use our workshop development process alongside our exercise development process and; the use of multi-media and other visually appealing content allows for high levels of engagement and participation from a diverse range of stakeholders.
